The Schlumbergera truncata, its technical title, comes in shades of white, pink, red and purple and is ordinarily acquired from backyard centres in bud and blooms around mid November and late January - dependent on the assortment. For very good flowering present prolonged nights of uninterrupted darkness - which would mean no synthetic light - in autumn. Just prior to flowering, the plants would be wise to be kept awesome and dryish until eventually the flower buds kind.
